Emailing a Client document from your own mailbox leaves you no record of it. Client Tools, Send File, Send File History. Everything you have sent, and everything still waiting to go.

There are two ways in, and they do the same thing. The other is the Send File tab on the Client themselves. Fewer clicks, and you are already in the right record.

Send Client a File, and the first choice is the important one. Send File Copy. They receive the file, and there is nothing to sign. Or Send Document for eSignature, which has a video of its own.

Take the copy first. Their email address is already filled in from their record. The send is scheduled about ten minutes ahead, and the date and the time are yours to change.

Then choose your file. A tax return, a statement, a signed copy of something. Anything you would otherwise attach to an email.

And underneath, the supporting email. It is optional, and it goes separately. About a minute after the file, so it arrives second. So the Client receives two emails. One with the link to the file. One with your Note about it. Both personalised as coming from you.

Back on the list, you can see exactly what happened. Sent, or scheduled and still waiting. Nothing vanishes into an outbox you cannot see.

And the emails sit on the Emails tab, with the rest of that Client’s history.
